I can't remember the last time I drew for myself.
Art is supposed to be a release.
It's not much of a release if you're only drawing to please other people.
I need to get back into that mindset.

Why hello there~
It's been a while -- I need to do these a bit more frequently...
So, like has been rather good. School and stuff has been going on for a while, and I'm finally getting into the swing of things. (Not like school's my main concern or anything.)

My job is really what has made me happy soul. My boss is incredible, I love making coffee, and I AM THE MOP MASTER.
But seriously, that place is fucking awesome.
Come check it out! It's over at Cherry & McCaslin in Louisville. I usually work there from ~1 until 4.
Overall though, I've really gotten the hang of things over there. I can close in 40 minutes (as opposed to 1 hour 15 minutes, when I started) and I can make anything the people ask (so long as it's on the menu, of course).

Music lately has been good. Me and 's little music escapade has reached new heights, and we're really eager to release our first CD~

So, I actually did end of going this year (I decided this the Wednesday before it happened... ). It was... so fucking worth it. I had an epiphany there, or something. I sort of opened up, because my philosophy was that someone there was probably more unfortunate looking than me anyway. So, thanks to that, I've gotten into the habit if wearing bandannas as scarves. Woo.
The spoils were few, but valuable! I got a bottle of Qoo, a tail that you attach by your belt, and a wonderful commission by ! I got to meet her as well, but she didn't seem too thrilled... HAH.
But the commission is so GOOD. It made me shit myself when I pulled it out of the package. [link] The scanner murdered the colors though. Luckily, I have it hanging up on my wall, so I can see its glorious colors at all times. HAH.

And new music that I've been listening to!
I got the rest of this fabulous band; Broken Social Scene. Their older stuff is great, but their oldest stuff is quite ambient. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just not what I expected from BSS.
I also got Portugal. the Man's new album, "Censored Colors." It's... absolutely wonderful. It wasn't what I thought was coming, but what came was absolutely fantastic. I love "Lay Me Back Down" and "Sit Back and Dream."
Then I got the Glider EP by My Bloody Valentine. Why I haven't gotten more is beyond me. This stuff is FUCKING AMAZING. You'd think with a name like that, they'd be some emo shitty screaming band. But, no, they're this fangasmic shoegaze band. I love it. "Soon" is just... perfect.
I usually don't go for jazz all that much, but Yoko Kanno is just too damn good to pass up. I got the Soundtrack for the anime Darker Than Black, and my goodness, it's just great. I can't stop listening to "Tenderly." It's such a chill soooong~
And then, after for fucking forever, I got "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!" by Saul Williams. Jesus shit, I don't go for rap, ever, but OH MY GOD, this isn't rap, this is poetry, this is what rap is supposed to be. And having Trent Reznor featured on the album just makes it even better than what it already is.
Lastly, I got Grails' upcoming album, "Doomsdayer's Holiday," and it's... different. I love "Reincarnation Blues" & "Predestination Blues" most of all. But, good god, they must have done SO many drugs to make this album.

Quite a few things have happened since the last entry~
1. School started up again.
2. I got a job at the coffee shop.
3. I got a new pair of pants.

Okay, so only a few things. They're still BIG things.

School seems to to be swimming...
I got some good classes and some okay teachers. I've got 7th off, which is rather nice.
Having 7th off basically means I can go to work earlier.
That means I can get more money. Huzzah.

Working at a chill little coffee shop is a wonderful first job. The atmosphere is great, and the customers so far are really nice to me. If I don't know how in the hell to make their Decaf-whole milk-iced mocha, then they'll be all patient and let me figure things out. =]

New music'

~This is fucking fantastic. Go listen to Sapphire Magic, if you can find it somewhere.

I got all of the Gorillaz that I had missing as well. It's... well I haven't listened to it. I only got it because I was excited for...

"Journey To The West." ~Monkey
~A creative little side project from the guy behind the Gorillaz. It's not SUPER-FANTASTIC, but I will say it's the most enjoyable score for a Chinese Opera that I've ever heard.

"The Ocean and The Sun." ~The Sound of Animals Fighting.
So, I got this two weeks early, but it's okay, I bought this shirt. [link]
the album itself is fantastic. Perhaps not as experimental as Lover, (Which I would have liked,) but who am I to judge the music they make? I think it's fantastic. (Stanout tracks include "The Ocean and the Sun," "Blessings Be Yours Mister V," and "Uzbekistan."

Lastly, me and have been working out asses off on a new musical project. It's turning rather swell. :3
